A very respected mentor of mine once told me years ago...

"As spiritual beings having an earthly experience, we are all, flawed, imperfect, immortal beings… that’s what makes us human.

The goal is to strive to overcome the flaws in our human characteristics. Forgive the imperfections of ourselves as well as others and learn from them and grow.

And last but not least, as long as we are occupying a physical body, don’t expect to achieve perfection and immortality, and don’t ever be so bold as to believe you have achieved it while still in the flesh".
